Measurement Invariance

The proposed analyses aim to describe the correlation and covariance of available measures across different subgroups to gain a better understanding of how these measures are related.

Scientific Questions Being Studied

The proposed analyses aim to describe the correlation and covariance of available measures across different subgroups to gain a better understanding of how these measures are related.

Project Purpose(s)

  • Educational

Scientific Approaches

Survey data and aggregated results from exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses will be used to assess psychometric characteristics of measures across different socio-demographic variables.

Anticipated Findings

Findings of proposed analyses can help advancing our understanding of measurement invariance across different subgroups and inform testing assumptions of
synthetic datasets.

Demographic Categories of Interest

This study will not center on underrepresented populations.

neighborhood & mental health

The study will explore (1) the stability and change of mental health trajectories across racial/ethnic groups, and (2) how contextual factors, neighborhood risk, or community resources are associated with mental health trajectories.

Scientific Questions Being Studied

The study will explore (1) the stability and change of mental health trajectories across racial/ethnic groups, and (2) how contextual factors, neighborhood risk, or community resources are associated with mental health trajectories.

Project Purpose(s)

  • Social / Behavioral

Scientific Approaches

The project will utilize economic hardship, employment stability, zip codes, income, household crowdedness, and mental health indicators (depression, anxiety, stress) across time. Psychometric properties of mental health assessments will be testes using structural equation modeling, and latent growth modeling will be used to assess mental health trajectories.

Anticipated Findings

The study will assess measurement invariance of mental health assessment across racial/ethnic groups and will provide the information on the associations between contextual factors and mental health trajectories across racial/ethnic groups.
